Sam, an early camera enthusiast and accomplished photographer had his own darkroom and developed his own prints. Like all of those on the cutting edge of technology he bought the best equipment which served him well and allowed him to capture crisp images that could be further manipulated with post production tools. The high quality of his images and the care he took, composing and producing them, is perhaps what will allow them to survive well into the 21st century. Sam lived in Chicago and traveled all along the Eastern seaboard photographing how he saw the world in 1900.
